For my final project I wanted to do something real. I found that the two most difficult projects for me but also the most rewarding were the portraits and panoramas. I decided to use a bit of both to tell these people's stories. Throughout our lives we come in contact with millions of people. Most of which we don't talk to. There are a lot of people that we think of only as their profession. Who is the person behind the career? And what is it about them that made them want to do that career? I had a blast with this project. I met some really cool people. And not just like "Hey I'm Steve can I take your picture?" but I REALLY got to know these people. Some of them I spent multiple hours with. Here are some people that are seen everyday but never REALLY seen for who they are.

Assignment # 4 Black and White portraits
This is the person I know, this is my friend Christian. The light coming through the window to the right was gorgeous! |
This is my stranger. The light was very soft but I really liked it. |
This is my self portrait not as myself. This is me as bald Snow White.
I learned the most during this project. Wait for the right light don't rush through the pictures. It's ok to be picky. Most of all I had an epiphany about what I am doing for my final project!

Assignment #3 Colored Portraits
I found this assignment to be the most difficult of all so far. I struggled with what a portrait is. I found that it really depends. I did enjoy taking these pictures very much though. I learned a lot about positioning and light. I hope it shows.

Assignment # 2 High Key/ Low Key
During this assignment I learned a lot about myself. I can tell that I am definitely getting more picky because I was never fully satisfied. This assignment was more challenging than I though it would be, but I enjoyed it.

Lindon Marina
This was a shape exercise at the Lindon Marina. I was working on looking beyond what everyone else sees and practiced using the aperture. Here is my circle. |
Three triangles or a diamond? |
Triangles, how many do you see? I think this is the Black Pearl. Arrrrrr. |
Star in a circle and circles in a star, Jackpot! |
I now know what it feels like to be bitten by a cliché. |
